The Luminor collection is probably Panerai’s most iconic and prestigious collection. Instantly recognisable amongst luxury sports watchmaking worldwide, it reflects all that is Panerai. Harnessing a contemporary aesthetic whilst preserving classic proportions, its identity is somewhat emblematic. Now Panerai have embarked on an exciting new journey back into the field of chronography with 4 new chronographs to add to the Luminor collection.

THE SPORTIEST COMPLICATION TO DATE

Panerai has distinguished itself within a world highly focused upon precision and performance since 1943, when military heroes relied on the most precise instruments and pioneers put their trust in performance, when every second counts. This year also marked the dawn of the Mare Nostrum project, a model designed to serve the deck officers of the Italian Navy, taken to prototype stage only. Since then, Panerai has propelled into the 21st Century embracing developments in technology along the way, innovating within a hub for avant-garde imagination and developing a series of high-performance calibres. With a well-documented history of advance technological expertise within horology, Panerai has now created its most sporty movement to date and combined it to create an authentic aesthetic fusion of technical accomplishment and beauty.

INTRODUCING THE NEW MODELS

Each of the 4 models features Panerai’s signature crown protecting bridge on the right-hand side and sandwich dial. The chronograph function controls feature to the left of the dial and are noticeable by the blue hands that correspond to that function. A tachymeter scale on the flange enables calculation of speed in kilometres or miles across a predefined distance. Aligning all models is the new Calibre P.9200 with chronograph function, a self-winding movement which excels in performance and efficiency with a 42-hour power reserve. All models are water resistant up to 100 metres and come equipped with the interchangeable strap system. This enables versatility between a stainless-steel bracelet, alligator leather or rubber strap.

This type of gold hosts the superb mechanical properties that not only give it a distinguished resistance to oxidisation but also a depth of colour unlike no other due to its high percentages of copper and platinum. The Luminor Chrono Goldtech™ Blu Notte has an arresting colourway, presented on a deep blue alligator leather or rubber strap which compliments the vibrancy of the Goldtech™.
