First introduced by the Swiss brand in 2004, we are thrilled to see the return of the TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300. Reinvented and reimagined, the TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 encapsulates TAG Heuer’s avant-garde spirit and the heritage of the divers watch, whilst combining the modern and contemporary flair we’ve come to recognise and admire.

We spoke with our Watch Buyer, Elizabeth Millward, to dive a bit deeper into her thoughts on this exciting new collection.

Please tell us more, in your own words, about the new TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 collection.

The new Aquaracer 300’s are a line of luxury tool watches that pay respect to the original 1980’s classic, combining style with striking new designs that are sure to appeal to fans of stylish, yet utilitarian timepieces. The new Aquaracers are available in two sizes in the core collection, 43mm and 36mm, and are all stainless steel with either silver, blue, or black dials. In addition, they have released the 43mm special edition high-tech matt Grade 2 titanium model, which is sure to be an eye-catcher.

Is there any significant history behind the collection?

Paying tribute to their first dive watch from the 1980’s, TAG Heuer launched the Aquaracer collection in 2004 providing customers with a variety of different models. Then in 2009, TAG Heuer enhanced their Aquaracer collection further, establishing the Aquaracer as one of the most reliable diver’s watches on the market.

What is new about this collection?

More recently, TAG Heuer has launched new additions to the Aquaracer collection updating several features; The TAG Heuer Aquaracer’s 12-sided unidirectional rotating bezel has been improved with a scratch-resistant ceramic inlay and fluting on each of the 12 facets to make it easier to grip. The date window has been moved from 3 o’clock to 6 o’clock for a more symmetrical appearance, and the sapphire glass now has a magnifier built into the underside of the glass over the date at 6 o’clock so that the surface is smooth to the touch and the date is easier to see from all angles. The new case, bezel, and metal bracelet have all been slimmed down to give the watch a more streamlined appearance, the lugs have been reduced, and the case edge has been polished. These new features give the new TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 a more sophisticated design while also paying homage to past and present models.

What is your favourite design feature of the new collection?

Instead of usual angular indexes, the new models have octagonal polished indexes. My favourite feature in particular is the blue 36mm model, which has eight octagonal indices with 0.078ct VS diamonds that highlight its striking yet elegant design.
