Creating the ultimate jewellery box wishlist is an exciting task that presents incredibly tough decisions! We posed the almost unanswerable question to our key jewellery buyers to discover which pieces of jewellery would formulate the contents of their dream jewellery box.

Second in our series of three articles is Amelia, and here’s what she had to say…

Introducing Amelia Richards; Assistant Buyer – Mappin & Webb Jewellery

Jewellery adds that extra bit of sparkle and finishing touch to an outfit, always giving that extra feel-good factor. I love that jewellery can mark a special moment, whether it be received as a gift or treating yourself to celebrate an achievement. It’s a timeless investment which can be treasured through the generations.

My favourite gemstone would have to be the sapphire, not only because it is my birthstone, but also because it has so much depth and sparkle – especially in the classic blue colour which is my personal favourite. The colour contrast of the blue sapphire when set against diamonds truly illuminates it and looks wonderful. Of course, sapphires come in a rainbow of colours, presenting options to pair back with all attires.

Day to day I go for a smart casual look, I always seek to pair my jewellery with my outfits to add those all-important finishing touches that I love. I am never without my diamond jewellery staples; diamond stud earrings are a must for me. Despite being very classic in my day to day, I really enjoy getting dressed up and wearing more trend-led mixed cut pieces and love how a piece of jewellery can completely transform your outfit.

I love to accessorise for special occasions, nothing beats a great outfit with beautiful jewellery. I would opt for a showstopper jewellery suite, dramatic earrings, and matching neckwear for a put together look. There is never a wrong time to wear great jewellery!

At home I enjoy the simple luxuries of a freshly cooked home meal or a Netflix night with the girls. With that said, possessing a large family and friendship group it is inevitable that more often or not I’m trying out a new cocktail bar or celebrating a milestone with those closest to me. Having the best of both is the perfect mix, meaning that I get the right balance of socialising vs homebird, and consequently get the most from my jewellery wardrobe.

This sapphire oval pendant is up there with my favourite pieces. Excellent in colour, the lustrous pear sapphire is set with scintillating diamonds. The piece is perfect for bridal jewellery and for a timeless addition to a jewellery box, I would pair with the matching studs to complete the look.

For an everyday classic look, I would wear the Amelia emerald cut pendant and studs. This is our bridal collection which comes in oval, emerald and pear cut styles, however you can also wear the range day to day to add extra elegance to a look.

This line necklace from our Luxury collection is the perfect showstopper piece. The marquise diamonds would certainly add the wow factor to any outfit. For a full suite these can be paired with some drop earrings to finish the look off beautifully.

Our timeless, elegant diamond earrings are the perfect everyday accessory. I love the ear curation look so I would stack these studs with a pair of diamond huggies.
